Abstract

|
Hyperplastic gingiva covering the edentulous alveolar ridge provides an unstable and therefore undesirable base for a complete denture. In this case, we used epithelial layer of the hyperplastic gingiva as donor epithelium for free gingival graft
extension of the vestibular fornix. The grafted epithelial layer provided a stable, firm, supporting structure. At follow-up 1 year after operation the operated patient was free of recurrence.
